Dick Smith Electronics Selling Linux Laptops

Woo hoo! Dick Smith Electronics are now selling Acer Laptops with Linux (Ubuntu) pre-installed . That's fantastic. I've always thought it would be good to do - One day Freedom IT might get around to offering pre-installed Linux desktops/laptops.

Wowee! Sun Microsystems has "entered into an agreement" to acquire MySQL AB for

approximately $1billion. Very Interesting. Read the press release here.

Ministry of Justice Open Source Discussion Paper

The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) have been working on an OSS strategy for some time.Here is a link to an article which also includes the OSS discussion paper. Good to see someone in Government having a look at open source alternatives and finding them very viable.
